Reid Road Realignment

 

 

Reid Road intersects with SH39 (Kakaramea Road) a key state highway linking Auckland and Taranaki.  High volumes of heavy traffic travel SH39 on a daily basis with the main 'drop off' point for the school around 30 metres from this intersection on Reid Road.

 

Ngahinapouri village has been identified in a growth cell in the Waipa District Council's 'Waipa 2050' strategic framework.  This will likley see further rural lot subdivision take place on Reid Road.

 

The Ngahinapouri Community Group has been proactively working with Council on planning for the future realignment of Reid Road to increase the safety of our school kids and community as a whole, and to provide land for school expansion in the future.

 

Waipa District Council funded a scoping study that produced the 'Draft Ngahinapouri Village Concept Plan' combining both the realignment of Reid Road with the other work the Ngainapouri Community Group is doing into one overaching document.

 

Timing for funding the realignemnt is currently under consideration by the Council.
