Ngahinapouri School

 

The Ngahinapouri school was established in 1877 with a roll of 12 students and brought a centre for the social life of the district, and with it, a feeling of identity that remains strong today.  At the beginning of 1912 the school was transferred to a new building erected on the present site.  

 

Over the years, the school has continued to grow, with major renovations being carried out to accommodate today’s roll of around 170 students.
